Recently, we went to purchase a few “U.S.” food items (with GREAT excitement) from a local butchery and here’s what we found. Oscar Mayer Bacon – $17.50; Miracle Whip – $12.00; Saltine Crackers (premium if that helps) – $13.00; Philadelphia Cream Cheese – $7.00; Pam Cooking Spray – $13.00; Laughing Cow Cheese Wedges – $8.00 and the look on your face as you read this post PRICELESS!

This is not a joke! Needless to say we did not purchase any of these items. We had to decide what was most important and the Cracker Barrel Cheese won….and that was $13.00 for two packs. So what’s the moral of this story? When your friends, sisters or brothers, that are serving cross-culturally, ask for a Care Package, remember this post, say a prayer, ask for the address and go shopping for care package items.
